Privacy Policy

Last updated: 29 March 2026

1. Who we are

UrbanHQ (“we”, “our”) is a Netherlands housing analytics and city intelligence platform.

For questions about this policy or your personal data, contact us via the contact form on the website.

2. What data we collect and why

We only collect personal data that you voluntarily provide through our contact form:

  • Name — to address you in our reply.

  • Email address — to respond to your message.

  • Subject & message — the content of your inquiry.

Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) — responding to inquiries you initiate.

We do not collect data for marketing purposes, do not sell data to third parties, and do not create user profiles.

3. How we use your data

Contact form submissions are forwarded via Resend (our email service provider) to our support inbox. We use your data solely to respond to your inquiry. We retain your message for as long as reasonably necessary to handle your request and for up to 12 months afterwards.

4. Third-party services

The following third parties may process data in connection with your use of UrbanHQ:

  • Netlify — hosting & CDN. Netlify may collect server-side access logs (IP address, browser type, requested URL) for security and operational purposes. See netlify.com/privacy.

  • Resend — transactional email delivery for contact form submissions. See resend.com/privacy.

  • Google Analytics (GA4) — website analytics, only if you give consent (see section 5). See policies.google.com/privacy.

All statistical data displayed on UrbanHQ (housing prices, demographics, crime, etc.) originates from CBS (Centraal Bureau voor de Statistiek) open data and does not contain personal information.

5. Cookies & Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use UrbanHQ (pages visited, session duration, general location by country/city). GA is only activated after you explicitly accept analytics cookies via the banner shown on your first visit.

When you accept, Google Analytics sets the following cookies:

  • _ga — distinguishes unique users; expires after 2 years.

  • _ga_<ID> — stores session state; expires after 2 years.

Legal basis: consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser cookies or using your browser’s cookie settings.

GA4 sends data to Google LLC (USA). Google is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, which provides an adequate level of data protection under GDPR.

If you decline, no analytics cookies are set and Google Analytics does not receive any data about your visit.

Netlify’s CDN may set a strictly necessary session cookie for load-balancing. This does not require consent.

6. Your rights under GDPR

As a resident of the EU/EEA you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.

  • Correct inaccurate data.

  • Request deletion of your data.

  • Object to or restrict processing.

  • Data portability.

  • Lodge a complaint with the Dutch DPA — Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).

To exercise any of these rights, contact us via the contact form.

7. Data security

All traffic between your browser and our servers is encrypted via HTTPS (TLS). Contact form data is transmitted securely via Resend’s API. We do not store form submissions in our own database.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
